Sahil Dowra

MSc Candidate

Sahil is a Master’s candidate in Microbiology. His research focuses on prokaryotic community dynamics in the Southern Ocean across glacial-interglacial cycles, and aims to contribute to our understanding of ancient marine microbiomes and their environmental role.

He holds a BSc in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and a BSc Honours in Microbiology. His honour’s research investigated the gut microbiomes of Southern Right and Humpback whales to better understand the role of whale faeces in marine biogeochemical cycling.

Sahil is passionate about learning and hopes to push the frontiers of science a little further.
